Services

What we offer

Everything is delivered by video unless you ask for an in-person visit in Charlotte. Each service is provided by a clinician licensed for it in North Carolina.

Therapy

Individual therapy for adults, 45 to 60 minutes, weekly or every other week. Our clinicians work with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief, relationship and family stress, work and career strain, and major life transitions. Approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused care, and solution-focused work; your clinician will explain what they recommend and why in the first session.

Your first visit

The first appointment is an intake: what brought you here, what you want to be different, your history, and what has and has not helped before. You leave with a plan, a standing appointment time, and a clear idea of what the next several sessions will cover.

Psychiatric care and medication

Evaluation and medication management with a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Initial evaluations run about 60 minutes; follow-ups are 20 to 30 minutes. Prescriptions go electronically to your pharmacy. If you are also in therapy with us, your prescriber and therapist share one treatment plan.

Controlled medications are prescribed only where clinically appropriate and permitted by telehealth rules, which may require an in-person visit.

Recovery: substance use counseling

Outpatient counseling for alcohol and drug use, led by clinicians credentialed in addiction treatment. Individual sessions, and groups when enough people are ready for one. We coordinate with recovery housing, primary care and, for Veterans, the VA. Treatment is confidential under federal substance use privacy rules (42 CFR Part 2), which are stricter than ordinary health privacy law.

We do not require anyone to be in treatment with us as a condition of housing, employment or any other program. Choosing your provider is your right.

Not the right fit

We are an outpatient practice. If you need detox, inpatient or residential care, or are in immediate danger, call 988 or 911, or go to the nearest emergency department. We are glad to help you find the right level of care and to pick up when you are ready for outpatient.
